Classe 1976, torinese, dj dal 1997, Andrea Margiotta è stato uno dei primi a Torino a far ballare il pubblico, sempre più numeroso, sui ritmi del jazz e di tutti i suoi derivati e le sue contaminazioni, facendo girare dischi in vinile da ballare con stile e fruibili da tutte le generazioni.

Una tipica espressione di intrattenimento legata alla buona musica retrò, con l’aggiunta di ritmi elettronici che la rendono moderna. Le sue selezioni spaziano tra jazz, funk, soul, disco, latin, afro, black, big beat e sonorità anni Novanta.

Nel corso degli anni è stato dj resident, e talvolta responsabile della programmazione, di numerosi club dell’area torinese (tra cui Fluido, Padiglione 14, sPAZIO211, Société Lutèce, Villa Capriglio, AB+, Jazz Club Torino, Il Salotto di Mao, Charlie Bird): esperienze che lo hanno portato a suonare musica dal sapore vintage e a ospitare dj e musicisti della scena nu-jazz nostrana e internazionale.

Nel 2008 pubblica il remix del brano Grigio Torino (CortoCorto) per il cantautore torinese Mao, manipolato e rielaborato insieme ai produttori Vic Brothers. Nel 2016 pubblica il remix del brano Hard Luck (Flatcar Records) per la cantante swing-jazz canadese Tia Brazda, diventato un classico nelle playlist di Beat Connection di Francesco Adinolfi su Rai Radio 1 e nel Craig Charles Funk & Soul Show su BBC Radio 6 Music. Nel 2019, insieme a Drumgenius alias Mauro Battisti, formidabile contrabbassista jazz romano, pubblica il remix del brano Good Life to You (Chin Chin Records), tratto dal disco del produttore bolognese Giorgio Cencetti in arte DJ Farrapo.

Dal 2007 al 2011 collabora con la webradio radiodigitale.info, che lo porta a condurre Acapulco76, programma in cui seleziona musica breakbeat, funk, nu jazz, rare grooves e retropop. Dal 2019 cura il mixtape in free download My name is Andrea Margiotta, but everybody calls me DJ Margiotta per CortoCorto.

Born in 1976 in Turin, a dj since 1997, Andrea Margiotta was one of the first in Turin to get audiences dancing, in ever-growing numbers, to the rhythms of jazz and all its derivatives and contaminations, spinning records on vinyl, danceable with style and enjoyable for every generation.

A typical expression of entertainment tied to good retro music, with the addition of electronic beats that make it contemporary. His sets range across jazz, funk, soul, disco, latin, afro, black, big beat and 1990s sounds.

Over the years, he has been resident dj and, at times, in charge of booking for a number of clubs in the Turin area (including Fluido, Padiglione 14, sPAZIO211, Société Lutèce, Villa Capriglio, AB+, Jazz Club Torino, Il Salotto di Mao, Charlie Bird), a role that has led him to play music with a vintage flavour and to host djs and musicians from the local and international nu-jazz scene.

In 2008 he released a remix of Grigio Torino (CortoCorto) for Turin singer-songwriter Mao, reworked together with producers Vic Brothers. In 2016 he released a remix of Hard Luck (Flatcar Records) for Canadian swing-jazz singer Tia Brazda: a staple of the playlists of Beat Connection by Francesco Adinolfi on Rai Radio 1 and of the Craig Charles Funk & Soul Show on BBC Radio 6 Music. In 2019, together with Drumgenius aka Mauro Battisti, a formidable jazz double bassist from Rome, he released a remix of Good Life to You (Chin Chin Records), from the album by Bologna-based producer Giorgio Cencetti, aka DJ Farrapo.

From 2007 to 2011 he worked with web radio radiodigitale.info, hosting Acapulco76, a show in which he selected breakbeat, funk, nu jazz, rare grooves and retropop.
